A man was run over by a train in Lincoln County on Oct. 6, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
At 4:42 a.m., the Lincoln County Sheriff received a report from BNSF Railway that a deceased person was found on the tracks near Wolf Creek, east of Libby. A second train stopped at the location and the crew confirmed that there was a deceased male on the right-of-way.
Railroad traffic through the area was suspended while law enforcement and the Lincoln County Coroner came to the scene to recover the body.
The death is under investigation, but authorities believe it was accidental.
The name of the deceased is being withheld until family members are notified.
