The Flathead County Planning Board has a busy schedule for its May 10 meeting, with the board planning to discuss four projects, including the U.S. Highway 93 South Whitefish Overlay.
The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. in the second floor conference room of the Earl Bennett Building at 1035 First Ave. W in Kalispell.
According to the agenda, the board will discuss:
• A request to expand the North American RV Park to add 46 RV spaces and seven yurt spaces north of Coram. The addition would be located on a 16-acre parcel which is zoned Scenic Corridor.
• A request from Thornton Motorsports LLC for a preliminary planned unit develop for the Montana Raceway Subdivision, a 57-lot residential subdivision located at 3790 Highway 93 N. The applicant has requested a zone change from AG-40 to R-1 with a PUD overlay to increase density.
• A publicly initiated text amendment to the Flathead County Zoning Regulations to create a new overlay use called SWO Highway 93 South Overlay, to institute increased design standards for new development within the U.S. Highway 93 corridor south of Whitefish.
• A publicly initiated zone change in the Rural Whitefish and Blanchard Lake Zoning Districts. The proposal would change: 0.2 acres from residential to secondary business; about 36.2 acres from suburban agricultural to second business; approximately 79.2 from suburban agricultural to business service district; and about 145.2 acres from agricultural to suburban agricultural.
