Distance running stars Annie Hill and Ben Perrin battled the nation’s top prep athletes April 7 at the prestigious Arcadia Invitational at Arcadia High School in Los Angeles.

Hill was 14th in the women’s 3,200-meter race, crossing the line in 10:44.08. Two years ago at the same meet, Hill ran what is believed to be the fastest 3,200 ever run by a prep female from Montana, finishing second in 10:14.14. A University of Colorado commit, Hill is coming off a distance sweep at the 2017 Montana Class AA track meet, winning the 800, 1,600 and 3,200. She is the reigning Gatorade Montana Girls Track and Field Athlete of the Year and a two-time state cross country champion.

Perrin set a new personal record time at Arcadia, finishing 21st in the 3,200 in 9:04.56. The junior at Flathead High School was sixth in the Class AA cross country meet in the fall and finished third in the 3,200 at the state track meet as a sophomore.
