Montana Wilderness Association (MWA) is presenting Spring Into Summer, a hiking season kickoff celebration at Casey’s in Whitefish on Friday, April 13.

The event will feature a special performance of “100 Days of Solitude” by local author Amy Pearson. This will be a sensory theatrical experience of fire lookout life in the Bob Marshall Wilderness through poetry Pearson penned on Jumbo Mountain in 2015.

This year, MWA will offer over 100 opportunities to get outdoors and explore wild places across Montana. Learn to identify wildflowers or birds, give back to the trails you love on a volunteer trail crew, or challenge yourself to summit a tall peak with MWA.

Tickets to the event are $10 for the general public, or free for MWA members. Tickets will be for sale at the door only. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the performance begins at 6:30 p.m.
