Witness testimony continues on the fourth day of trial in Judge Dan Wilson’s courtroom, where the jury heard from the victim’s sister, who took over custody of her niece and nephew following Kimberly Gilham’s death. Jurors also heard testimony from the defendant’s mother and his second ex-wife, who both described their attempts to contact Floyd in the hours after the alleged hit-and-run incident as law enforcement searched for him in the Martin City area.
Stay tuned for more court updates, but for now, let’s get into some more uplifting activities on tap over the next few days.
Whitefish skiers Maggie Voisin and Parkin Costain are starring in the latest Teton Gravity Research (TGR) film, “Pressure Drop,” which is screening at the Montana Tap House tonight.
After a decade-long career on the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team, Voisin retired last year from competitive skiing to focus on big mountain freeride, joining her childhood friend, Costain, in destinations like Alaska and Japan.

‘You Can’t Let Us Starve’: Food Bank Directors, Blackfeet Leaders Brace for ‘Food Emergency’ as SNAP Benefits Cliff

More than 77,000 Montanans would be affected by the delay, which is unprecedented in the food-assistance program's history.
The outcry stems from a series of audio recordings a student posted on his personal X account, which have gained attention in conservative circles. The Montana Federation of Public Employees called the rhetoric and response an example of “misinformation.”
In her latest column, Bigfork-based cookbook author and food blogger Julie Laing shares her recipe for home-made pumpkin gnocci. Check it out here.
